Programs in Israel

Israel Journey covers all of the classic sites you need to experience in Israel but we'll also take you much further. Enjoy a BBQ on the beach, take part in an active archaeological dig, sample the world's very best falafel and spend a night under the stars. More than a tour, this journey is about discovering your own personal connection to this very ancient and very modern land.It's about exploring what it means to be Jewish from an Israeli point of view..This is a 3 week summer program.

Partnered with the Milwaukee Jewish Community, Camp Interlaken JCC hosts a Teen Israel Trip for campers entering 11th grade. Directly following our campers’ K’far Noar (Teen Village) summer entering 11th Grade where they focus on Eretz Yisrael (love of the land of Israel) as their core Jewish value. Each year we send anywhere from 20-35 campers on this fabulous experience led by an Interlaken staff member and Israeli staff. The four week program begins in Milwaukee with the Teen Mifgash partnership program with 12 Israeli teens from the Sovev Kinneret Region.

The CTeen Heritage Quest is a unique 22-day trip to Poland and Israel that will give teens a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the roots of their Jewish heritage at the source. The group will spend six days visiting many sites of past Jewish presence in Poland, such as cemeteries, ghettos, and synagogues. From Poland, the group will travel to Israel and discover the significance of our Jewish homeland and contemporary Jewish life.

Machaneh Bonim B'Israel (MBI) is a five week summer adventure with for post grade 10 age teens. A central goal of the MBI program is to help create young leaders with strong Jewish identities who will use their knowledge at home, in their communities and at their machaneh (summer camp).

The International March of the Living is an annual educational program, bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. Taking place annually on Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day – The March of the Living itself is a 3-kilometer walk from Auschwitz to Birkenau as a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust.

Israel ID is a co-ed travel program for teens looking to see the entire Holy Land while having an incredible, fun-filled summer. Program is for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders and is 5 weeks long.

The Nesiya Summer Program is a 5 week Israel experience that combines outdoor adventure, workshops in the visual, performing and literary arts, community service projects, cultural activities and creative Jewish study in Israel. Meet artists, educators, nature guides, activists, and community leaders who will work side by side with you creating, exploring, learning and building. Participants travel through four regions of Israel – the Negev, Galil, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the Judean Desert – and focus on the origins, development, and role of the land of Israel in the future of the Jewish people.

Unique integrated travel and learning curricula designed especially for teen focusing on different specialty trips, including a visit to Eastern Europe, a high school semester, a trip through the lens of social justice, and a sci-tech Israel trip. Trips range from 2 to 5 weeks.

Tzofim Chetz V’Keshet (CVK) is a month long Israel Summer Program for teens ages 15-18 for one month. Participants strengthen their connection to Israel by seeing the country through the eyes of both their Israeli peer participants as well as their Israeli counselors as they hike, bike, and tour the country. It is also the only teen summer program run in conjunction with the Israel Defense Forces including exclusive behind the scenes look at the Israeli Army.

Whether you’re a longtime Young Judaean or are new to our programs, explore the country with your friends from Young Judaea on Machon, make new friends, and learn how to effectively advocate for the land you love.All of these adventures are carefully tailored to highlight the best that Israel has to offer through the frame of our renowned programming. Machon is a 4 week program.

Discover Eastern Europe, from the towering spires of Prague to the bustling creativity of Berlin to the quiet, rolling countryside of Poland. Gain a deeper understanding of Jewish history in each country (which includes visits to concentration camps), before embarking on a four-week tour of Israel. Teens experience Israel’s beauty and power alongside their peers, taking part in a variety of fun adventurous outdoor activities and engaging in interesting educational discussions. In addition to the basic Israel trip USY offers varying programs including authentic Israeli experiences and social-action focused trips, on which teens can meet and personally touch the lives of Israeli citizens, experiencing the country in a very unique and meaningful way.They also offer combination trips, where teens can visit part of Europe and explore other significant sights of Jewish history before traveling to Israel. Destinations in Europe include Italy, Poland, Prague, and Germany.

Spend a week walking among the history and culture of Polish Jewry in Warsaw, Krakow, and Lublin, and engage in moving visits to the concentration camps of Sobibor, Majdanek, Auschwitz, Birkenau, and Treblinka. Then, with a new appreciation of Jewish history, spend the next four weeks discovering and exploring modern day Israel.
